The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Visit us with your memorabilia.
To celebrate Her Majesty’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee, we are delighted to catalogue the Queen’s many visits to Suffolk throughout her 70 year reign.
Please bring your newspaper cuttings, photographs and stories to our branches so we can build scrapbooks that paint a picture of our royal memories throughout the county. Find out more below.
Join our celebrations
We are inviting you to share your Royal memories with us. To help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by creating scrapbooks in each of our nine Suffolk branches.
You can join our celebrations by sharing your memories of Royal visits to Suffolk, or Jubilee street parties from days gone by. Maybe you have a picture of the Queen on a Royal visit to Ipswich, or a newspaper cutting you’ve treasured. Maybe there’s some pictures of your family at a street party with some cucumber sandwiches and some flags? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear from you.
How do I get involved?
We would love to see your newspaper cuttings and photographs from the time of the Her Majesty’s many visits. We ask that you bring your items to your local branch in the weeks leading up to the Jubilee.
Alternatively, you can send in pictures of your memorabilia digitally to our mailbox:
Please note: If you are to visit us in person, we do advise bringing a copy (rather than a precious original) of your memorabilia for the scrapbook. However, we can photocopy documents where necessary. At the end of the Jubilee period, these scrapbooks will be showcased on our website and added to our Heritage Archives.
