Now in its 13th year, Surviving Winter helps keep thousands of people warm in our local communities.

Surviving Winter is run by Suffolk Community Foundation. We’ve supported both the Foundation and Surviving Winter since they launched.

The appeal began to encourage generous donations of any winter fuel payments from people who felt they did not need them. This year the operation is supporting working households, who are facing financial hardship, with fuel payments.

This winter will prove even harder for many people in Suffolk as the high cost of living continues.

For local families and people, being cold poses a serious threat to both physical and mental wellbeing. It can also cause damage to family life and the prospects of young people. For anyone with a disability or health issues, a drop in room temperature can pose a serious threat.

Our branches are ready and waiting to accept donations by cash or cheque. We’ll also be using our staff and branches to help raise awareness of the campaign. This is both to attract donations, and to signpost people who may need help this winter.

For 2023/24 we’re asking Suffolk businesses to join us and give the proceeds of annual Christmas jumper days to the campaign. Local insurance broker Pound Gates have said they’ll join us!

Thank you for your generous support of Surviving Winter!
