The search has begun to find the next charity partner for the upcoming Twilight Road Races in 2020.

The Twilight 5k series returns to Ipswich Waterfront on Saturday 9 May for a jam-packed afternoon of races suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. The Twilight 10k Road Race in its sixth year returns on Friday 24 July, having attracted over 1,400 participants to the mass participation run to beat the sunset in 2019.

The return of these popular events follows the success of the 2019 series which saw more than 2,000 runners take part across both events, with the 10k moving to a new route and a brand new location at Ipswich Town Football Club.

To qualify, charities must operate solely or principally in the Suffolk area. Charities will have a visible presence at both events therefore will require volunteers and representation on the event days.

The selected Twilight Road Races 2020 charity partner will receive:

  • Sole charity partner status of the 2020 events
  • 10 complimentary places for fundraising runners in the 10k event
  • A press release and photo opportunity announcing the partnership
  • 4 banner spaces at the finish line / race plaza at both events
  • A charity partner stand at the race plaza at both events
  • Event website and social media coverage

Commenting on the charity partnership, Ipswich Building Society CEO Richard Norrington said:

“We are delighted to invite charities to apply to be the official race charity partner for the 2020 Twilight races and benefit from these popular events, which have become annual fixtures among the Suffolk running community. The selected charity will be able to fundraise through their allocation of free places and also raise awareness of their work in the community.”

Charities can submit their application to [email protected] explaining why they would like to be chosen and how the partnership will help their fundraising aims and efforts. Charity applications close on Friday 29 November 2019.

Entries for both the 5k series and 10k race open on 1 January 2020. Sign up for either race by 31 January 2020 to be entered into a prize draw with 1,000 entrants receiving a FREE official race t-shirt sponsored by Ensors.
