Congratulations to Halford Hewitt – Chief Executive of Ipswich Housing Action Group (IHAG), for his recent MBE award in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Every branch across our network has their own unique and truly local charity with whom they are partnered for their Mutual Advantage account. At Mutual House, in the centre of Ipswich, we have been partnered with IHAG for almost two years now. IHAG is a local homelessness charity focused on helping people within Ipswich and is headed by Halford.

I must confess that when I first joined the Society I was unaware of IHAG and they work they do, but upon meeting the charity and its employees and volunteers I was quickly struck by their passion and dedication. So struck, in fact, that I started getting involved and am now a member of the Board of Trustees!

Halford has been very quick to point out that his MBE award is a reflection on all the good work that IHAG do and the recognition is a tribute to the entire organisation, saying “IHAG staff are incredibly dedicated, hard-working and skilled; it is their efforts that have earned me this award, and I am proud and honoured to be their Chief Executive. It is they who allow IHAG to ‘punch above its weight’”.

Here at Mutual House we are equally proud to be associated with IHAG for an upcoming third year as their Mutual Advantage partner, through to 1 July 2019.

More information about IHAG can be found on their website.
