As part of our continued commitment to keeping a physical presence in our community, we’re pleased to let you know that our Sudbury branch is moving to a new and larger premises in the town.
Located at 98 North Street, Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 1RF, formerly the Mountain Warehouse store, the new branch is just a two-minute walk from the current location. It will open at 10am on Wednesday 21 February 2024.
The new branch includes a banking counter for day-to-day transactions, as well as a casual seating area for a chat with our friendly staff. There are also two meeting rooms for more confidential discussions.
The existing branch, on 10 Market Hill, will be closed from Thursday 15 February 2024, to allow us time to get packing and moving.
The Sudbury branch contact telephone number will remain the same: 01787 375388.
If you need to visit a branch between Thursday 15 February and Tuesday 20 February, your nearest one is a 25-minute drive away at 94 High Street, Hadleigh, Suffolk IP7 5EL.
Richard Norrington, Chief Executive at Suffolk Building Society said: “Our Sudbury branch is a busy one, with people coming to visit from both the town and its surrounding areas, so the move is simply about providing the space needed to serve members effectively.
“In a world that’s becoming increasingly digital, we believe face-to-face interactions are still very important. We want our members to be able to discuss their savings or goals with our staff in person, not just over the phone or via a messaging service. Of course, we’re becoming more digital, and our new online savings platform is a testament to that. However, our aim is simply to provide our members with more choice about the way they connect with us, and that will never come at the expense of our proven and well-loved branch network.
“Unlike many other financial institutions, we intend to maintain a physical branch presence across Suffolk. We hope the good people of Sudbury will be as pleased with their new branch as we are. Members will be invited to leave feedback about the new premises once it is fully open.”
