On 27 March 2024, we held our 174th AGM at Trinity Park in Ipswich. We welcomed a combined total of 250 members and guests in person and online.
It was great to see so many of you and your guests turning out to support the Society and have your say in its future.
After the AGM formalities were finished, we welcomed our guest speaker Miranda Krestovnikoff to the stage.
Miranda is best known for her work as a television wildlife presenter (BBC Coast, The One Show) and she shared her experiences of walking the Suffolk Coast. She also provided insight into her life as an accomplished diver of underwater habitats.
Miranda answered questions from the audience, on the state of the environment, her favourite (and least favourite!) animals, and she even talked us through her ‘most embarrassing moment’ on live television (hint: it involved a rogue frog on The One Show!).
We also shared a compilation of our recent charity films, highlighting the work of our four charity partners: Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Emmaus Suffolk, Ipswich Housing Action Group and Lighthouse Women’s Aid.
Thank you to all of you who came along or watched online. We hope you enjoyed the evening with us and hope to see you next year!
