Ipswich Building Society launches new Woodbridge branch
Relocation from New Street to new premises at the Thoroughfare

Ipswich Building Society will open its new Woodbridge branch to members on Tuesday 27 February at 10am. As the Society celebrates its 30th anniversary of operating in the town. The new premises, located on the Thoroughfare, will offer improved space for customers and staff, while allowing the Society room to host member and community events.

Existing staff members will transfer to the new branch on the Thoroughfare and continue to offer the Society’s valued face-to-face service, which includes over the counter savings, mortgages and home insurance. The investment in Woodbridge is part of the Society’s commitment to branch services and maintaining its high-street presence in its heartland area of Suffolk. The new opening follows the launch in January of its new flagship branch, Mutual House in Princes Street, Ipswich.

Ipswich Building Society CEO, Richard Norrington, commented on the new opening: “After 30 years of providing our services to the Woodbridge community, I am delighted that we are moving into larger, more comfortable premises. We know our members still want and need a face to face service and with this move and the opening of our new Ipswich town centre branch, Mutual House, last month, we are proud to be bucking the trend and further investing in our branch network.”

The Woodbridge premises will also host an estate agency service from Nicholas Estates, following a similar co-location within the Society’s Ravenswood branch on the outskirts of Ipswich. Focusing on residential sales and lettings the office will be led by Sales Manager Scott Gower. Ipswich Building Society members can benefit from 20% off standard sales and lettings fee packages at Nicholas Estates.

Jamie Redbond, Managing Director of Nicholas Estates said: “It’s a privilege to be open once again alongside Ipswich Building Society, expanding into the marquee town of Woodbridge has always been ambition for Nicholas Estates. There’s a very strong community and family feel with great schooling and local amenities. Importantly, the town is seeing recent large investments in mixed use developments and sizeable residential developments coming in surrounding areas; thus making for buoyant property market and enough business for us to capture a market share.”

In typical fashion, Ipswich Building Society is inviting members and the wider community to join staff members at the new branch to celebrate its opening on Saturday 3 March. The celebration event will consist of complimentary refreshments from Honey + Harvey, a local independent coffee house, music from a barrel organ at 10am and a showcase of live songs from the Children’s Theatre Company at 11.30am. For more information about this event call 0330 123 0723.

Nicholas Estates is now taking instructions to sell and let properties in the Woodbridge area. Contact Scott Gower on 01394 610595 to take advantage of the introductory fee offers.
