The 2019 Twilight 10k race went off without a hitch as more than 1,300 runners took to the streets for the fifth time with the aim of beating the sunset, despite the strong sunshine and muggy conditions. This year the action was focused around Ipswich Town’s iconic home at Portman Road Stadium, with the race area moving here from its previous location at Suffolk New College.
The runners set off on a brand new route for this year, taking them past Ipswich landmarks such as the Willis Building, the Cornhill and Town Hall. As the runners made their way round the course, our team of volunteers sprung into action, ready to hand out medals, goody bags and water bottles at the finishing line.
First to complete the course was Danny Rock who finished in 32:17, managing to open up a 37 second lead ahead of second-placed Ryan Prout who finished in 32:53. Helen Davies was the first woman to finish and retained her Ipswich 10k title with a time of 33:50 – placed fifth overall.

Registrations for the 2020 5k and 10k races will open on 1 January.
